Welcome to York Road Nursery

York Road has been established since 1981 and now provides full day care for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The nursery is located in a house with secured and CCTV monitored entrance doors.

The children are split into four rooms to cater for
the different ages, namely babies, toddlers and
pre-school. As your child grows, they will move
up to the next room where the care role is less
intensive as they begin to develop independence
and the educational role becomes more central.
The nursery is registered for 34 children split into 4 rooms.

Our Facilities

The nursery is split into 4 rooms, these being;

A baby room catering for children from 3 months to 1 year.
A sleep room.
A toddler unit.
A pre-school room

Kitchens & toilets – There are two toilet areas within the nursery and changing areas which are accessible to all these rooms. All toilets have their own doors to offer privacy to your child and promote their independence. The sinks and toilets are all children’s height. We work closely with parents to support toilet training.

Outdoors – We consider outdoor play to be vital for your child’s health, development and education. We have one outdoor play area. Part of our planned activities involve planting and growing our own vegetables and flowers in the garden. A high wall surrounding the play area ensures security.
Mission Statement

Our Objectives

Our objectives are the way in which we are going to meet our aim in order to provide a high quality service which endorses and implements good practice and current government legislation.

Below are the ways in which we are going to achieve our objectives:

By acknowledging and implementing ‘Principles for Early Years Education’, the curriculum guidance for the foundation stage, which will provide many of the elements of good practice needed to meet the needs of all children in the setting.
Identifying, booking and attending regular training courses to keep staff up-to-date with current initiatives and new ideas.
Deploying staff wisely, considering carefully their experience and qualifications.
Promoting and endorsing an ethos of equal opportunities for all within the nursery community.
Supported by the National Day Nurseries Association.
